London: November 27 2009: Norwegian.com, Scandinavia’s largest low-cost carrier, has appointed Aviareps PLC as its Market Development Agent in UK.
Norwegian.com, with headquarters in Oslo Norway has selected Aviareps PLC to provide a local resource to the travel trade community in UK. Aviareps PLC will offer trade support and assistance to stimulate demand for Norwegian.com’s scheduled services from London Gatwick, London Stansted and Edinburgh to Scandinavia.
The agreement means that Norwegian.com will use Aviareps PLC’s local expertise and network of contacts to broaden and deepen its links with the UK travel trade community, promoting sales via its agency web portal as well as GDS sales via Amadeus and Galileo.

Arik Air (W3) has appointed Aviareps PLC as its GSA (General Sales Agent) in the UK and Ireland.
Award winning Arik Air began operations in 2006. It is Nigeria’s leading commercial carrier and is based in Lagos. It currently operates a domestic network with almost 100 flights daily and a fleet of 20 state-of-the-art aircraft. The new service between London Heathrow and Lagos launches on 15 December 2008.
The agreement sees Aviareps PLC providing the airline with a dedicated commercial team to handle sales and trade marketing activities; a customer contact centre and reservations facility (open seven days a week) plus ticketing.

International Airlines has been extended
to include a new territory, Portugal. The
general sales agent has been providing representation
for the Kiev-based since 1998 and already

Under the expanded contract, Aviareps
PLC continues to handle the national
carrier’s 10 non-stop flights a week from
London Gatwick to Kiev, plus services to Madrid,
Barcelona and now Lisbon. UIA operates four
times weekly between Kiev and Lisbon.

Hong Kong Airlines (HX) and Hong Kong Express
Airways (UO) have appointed Aviareps PLC as
their general sales agent in the UK and Ireland.
The two newly-merged carriers operate a broad
regional network of some 30 routes from Hong
Kong into mainland China and other key destinations
in the Indochina and Far East region including
17 routes in China and new scheduled services
to regional destinations in Japan.
The two airlines currently operate a combined
fleet of 11 B737s (building to 16 by year
end) configured in a 2-class service, with
a further 30 A320s and 20 A330s on order for
delivery from 2010 onwards.

Agent, has made three new appointments at
the start of 2008 - its 25th year of trading.
Mitchell Hawes has joined
Aviareps PLC as UK &
Ireland Sales and Marketing Manager, Air Seychelles.
In 20 years in the travel industry, Mitchell
has acted as sales executive for Gulf Air,
Sales Manager and General Manager for Middle
East Airlines and most recently as General
Manager for Air Namibia. These airline
roles followed his post as travel manager
for the BBC and TV-am giving
him a wide range of experience to call upon
in his new role.
Air Seychelles, the national airline
of Seychelles, has twice-weekly non-stop direct
flights between London Heathrow and Mahé.
Aviareps PLC has represented Air
Seychelles since 1993.
Antje Voss has been appointed
to the new role of Market Development
Manager, Europe based at Aviareps
PLC’s newly opened office in Luxembourg.
Antje’s responsibilities include launching
the Oasis Hong Kong Airlines brand
into mainland Europe, plus core marketing
activity for various other clients within
the GSA’s 23-strong stable.
Antje has more than 10 years’ experience
in the travel industry. Before joining Aviareps,
she was Head of the European Sales Team for
Luxair, the National Airline of Luxembourg.
She holds a PHD in philology.
The opening of the new office in Luxembourg
provides an excellent platform for building
the presence of UK registered company, Aviareps
PLC, in the growing European market.

Davies to the new post of Head
of Marketing, based at the company’s
headquarters near Gatwick Airport. Davies
is responsible for both directing the marketing
strategy for the company and developing marketing
plans for various client airlines in the UK
and Europe.
Davies has more than 20 years of marketing
experience gained in a variety of roles with
specialist tour operators and within the business
travel sector at Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

in Dublin. This establishes a greater presence
for the company in Ireland from which to manage

With over 25 years’ commercial airline

John Donohue, newly appointed regional manager
for Ireland, is based at the new central Dublin
office with his five-strong team. Formerly
Divisional Sales Manager at bmi and UK and
Ireland Sales Manager at Maersk Air, John
has more than 20 years’ experience in
the aviation industry.
The new team will handle both the ROI and
the Northern Ireland sales territories, supporting
the sales and marketing activity driven from

Peter Sherman assumes the role for UK and
Irelandmarkets
Aviareps PLC, the specialist aviation general
sales agency, has appointed Peter Sherman
as Sales and Marketing Manager, UK
and Ireland on behalf of longstanding
client, Ukraine International Airlines.
Peter has more than 27 years experience within
the airline industry. He cut his aviation
teeth in roles with British Airways
and Jetsave Holidays before moving
to Delta Air Lines in 1986. Over
16 years with Delta, Peter rose through the
ranks in a variety of European Sales and Marketing
management roles. He returned to the UK in
1998 as Delta’s Manager Inside Sales
& Sales Support, Europe to re-engineer
Delta’s sales activities in Europe including
Groups Sales area, ‘Delta Meeting Network’
and the co-ordination of ‘Gateway Showcase’
- Delta’s conference and incentive initiatives.
In 2002, Peter moved to US Airways
to assume another European role as Manager
Direct and Group Sales, successfully driving
major revenue increases through US Airways’
European contact centre in Liverpool.

activities throughout the UK, with particular
emphasis on developing business travel in
co-operation with TMCs, online agencies, major
regional agencies, and specialist sales including
the MICE segment and the Marine market.
Valentina’s expanded role as Senior
Account Executive involves further developing
UIA’s relationships, mainly on the leisure
side, including retail agents, tour operators,
and consolidator/wholesalers. She continues
to concentrate on the Marketing area - including
the 15th anniversary of operations into UK
by Ukraine International Airlines later this
year.
