Aviareps plc appoints Sales and Marketing Manager for Ukraine International Airlines

Peter Sherman assumes the role for UK and Irelandmarkets

Aviareps PLC, the specialist aviation general sales agency, has appointed Peter Sherman as Sales and Marketing Manager, UK and Ireland on behalf of longstanding client, Ukraine International Airlines.

Peter has more than 27 years experience within the airline industry. He cut his aviation teeth in roles with British Airways and Jetsave Holidays before moving to Delta Air Lines in 1986. Over 16 years with Delta, Peter rose through the ranks in a variety of European Sales and Marketing management roles. He returned to the UK in 1998 as Delta’s Manager Inside Sales & Sales Support, Europe to re-engineer Delta’s sales activities in Europe including Groups Sales area, ‘Delta Meeting Network’ and the co-ordination of ‘Gateway Showcase’ - Delta’s conference and incentive initiatives.

In 2002, Peter moved to US Airways to assume another European role as Manager Direct and Group Sales, successfully driving major revenue increases through US Airways’ European contact centre in Liverpool.

Of his new appointment, Peter said, “I am excited to be joining Ukraine International as it celebrates its 15th year operating between the UK and Ukraine. I am committed to ensuring the airline’s continued growth, with initial focus on business travel – at a time of rapid development in Ukraine.”

Peter is based at Aviareps PLC’s central London sales office. He is supported by Valentina Sokolovska, who continues her work with Ukraine International Airlines in her new role as Senior Account Executive, and a specialist team that includes four Russian speakers.

Peter is responsible for face to face sales activities throughout the UK, with particular emphasis on developing business travel in co-operation with TMCs, online agencies, major regional agencies, and specialist sales including the MICE segment and the Marine market.

Valentina’s expanded role as Senior Account Executive involves further developing UIA’s relationships, mainly on the leisure side, including retail agents, tour operators, and consolidator/wholesalers. She continues to concentrate on the Marketing area - including the 15th anniversary of operations into UK by Ukraine International Airlines later this year.
