Aviareps PLC, the UK’s leading GSA, starts its 25th anniversary celebrations with three new senior appointments

Aviareps PLC, the UK’s leading airline General Sales Agent, has made three new appointments at the start of 2008 - its 25th year of trading.

Mitchell Hawes has joined Aviareps PLC as UK & Ireland Sales and Marketing Manager, Air Seychelles.

In 20 years in the travel industry, Mitchell has acted as sales executive for Gulf Air, Sales Manager and General Manager for Middle East Airlines and most recently as General Manager for Air Namibia. These airline roles followed his post as travel manager for the BBC and TV-am giving him a wide range of experience to call upon in his new role.

Air Seychelles, the national airline of Seychelles, has twice-weekly non-stop direct flights between London Heathrow and Mahé. Aviareps PLC has represented Air Seychelles since 1993.

Antje Voss has been appointed to the new role of Market Development Manager, Europe based at Aviareps PLC’s newly opened office in Luxembourg. Antje’s responsibilities include launching the Oasis Hong Kong Airlines brand into mainland Europe, plus core marketing activity for various other clients within the GSA’s 23-strong stable.

Antje has more than 10 years’ experience in the travel industry. Before joining Aviareps, she was Head of the European Sales Team for Luxair, the National Airline of Luxembourg. She holds a PHD in philology.

The opening of the new office in Luxembourg provides an excellent platform for building the presence of UK registered company, Aviareps PLC, in the growing European market.

Aviareps PLC has appointed Owen Davies to the new post of Head of Marketing, based at the company’s headquarters near Gatwick Airport. Davies is responsible for both directing the marketing strategy for the company and developing marketing plans for various client airlines in the UK and Europe.
Davies has more than 20 years of marketing experience gained in a variety of roles with specialist tour operators and within the business travel sector at Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

Of the three appointments, Bill Roff, joint chief executive of Aviareps PLC, said, “Welcoming more new talent into the business is a great way to mark the start of the company’s 25th anniversary year. Antje, Mitchell and Owen bring a wealth of expertise with them, and this will have significant impact on Aviareps PLC’s further development in 2008.”
